The Michigan Constitution Clearly states, “Every person has the right to keep and bear arms for the protection of himself and the state.” The Constitution of The United States of America states in the Second Amendment, “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” These leave no margin for “exceptions” such as pistol grips, shrouds, etc. These rights and amendments were afforded to us first by God and second by our founding fathers. The right to protect OUR life should that ever be necessary. The right to stand up to and remove a tyrannical government. The ability for We The People to stand for our lives, liberties, and freedoms. An armed populous is a dangerous populous, that is how they view it. Harking back to the days of the Revolutionary War, a citizen may have owned a ship fitted with FIFTEEN CANNONS, the same still applied. All in the name of protecting what was his and the country’s! This is our land we may protect it anyway that the People deem necessary.
The passing of House Bill 6544 would mean all but the end for all rights regarding firearms in the state of Michigan. Innocent law-abiding citizens would be at the mercy of their government with purchasing of hunting or self-defense weapons. The state of Michigan would have a catalog of every gun and gun owner in the state, which is the goal. This will make it that much easier for future confiscation. That is what this bill is designed to do, to ease people into handing over their defenses. The people of Michigan will be forced to register their firearms against their will every 5 years or face a felony charge and imprisonment of 5 years. They want this to take effect January 1, 2024, what will we do about it Michigan?
